First the laboring Turkey-Syria match up is now getting upgraded to a straight up shooting war with Turkey and Syria now shelling each other. The media spin is that Turkey is “retaliating” for being shelled. But if you arm guerrillas and terrorists operating in that country, send aircraft across its border and probably military “advisers” as well, then when they shell you, they’re the ones retaliating.
The media which is panting at the thought of creating another Libya in Syria is excitedly relaying the Turkish side of the story. But it doesn’t really matter. Up till now Turkey has done everything possible to incite this kind of incident because it knows that will legitimately get NATO involved.
And what could possibly have led Turkey to think that NATO would want to get involved? The answer is blowing in the wind of the Potomac. Obama illegally entered a war in Libya and kept sending signals that he would love to get involved in Syria. Wish granted.
Meanwhile China and Japan are circling each other, because Obama’s Pacific strategy had all the substance and consistency of a paper tiger. Japan isn’t ready yet for a fight with China, but if Obama doesn’t warn China off, then our last defense ties will be cut as useless and Japan will have the go ahead to fully rearm. And that is with the possibility that the Japan-China territorial tensions will explode into a shooting war.
The media could ask Obama about that, but they’re too busy assuming the position. Yes that position.
